Guest Hosts
Want to see a film the organizers aren't getting to? Be a guest host!
We love guest hosts! If you've been to a few DCC events and would like to try hosting one yourself, contact an organizer and they'll set it up. Just tell them the movie name, theater, date and time, and what your plans are for after the movie. Following is the job description:
The Basics
- Arrive at least 15 minutes before showtime to greet everyone.
- Have a DCC sign so people can find you.
- Guide the group into the screening room a few minutes before the show.
- After the screening, guide everyone to the discussion place.
- Lead the discussion, if you like, or just let people talk.
- If any issues arise that make anyone uncomfortable, tell the organizers.
- Always strive to be a good model of our Civil Citizen's Guide!
Extra Tips
- If you are going to a restaurant and there are six or more guests, make a reservation.
- The day before the event, leave a comment asking attendees to review their RSVPs.
- Greet first-timers extra nicely!
- Guide discussions so everyone has a chance to speak.
- Take photos and post them on the event--but make sure your guests are okay with having their picture published.
- Above all, relax and have fun!
